The latest from Starlight Children’s Foundation

00News July, 14

A recent letter from the Starlight Children’s Foundation with an update on what our on-going support does for ill children.

“Dear Peninsula Print

Thank You for your continued and loyal support for our Charity partner the Starlight Children’s Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 296058).

Without your help we would not have been able to raise as much money for Starlight as we have done up to now so, as always, from all of us:

We would also like to ensure that each and every person that uses GoCharitable, realises what a difference their support can make to the lives of these children.

So please have a look below at how your purchase of simple things such as loo rolls, kitchen rolls etc, can brighten the life of a seriously ill child:
Foodie delights for Sam at Allen’s of Mayfair and The Connaught

On 18 February, a brave young foodie from Ware in Hertfordshire enjoyed a once‐in‐a-lifetime experience at two of London’s finest food establishments, Allen’s of Mayfair and The Connaught – a special day out that was organised for him by Starlight.

Twelve-year-old Sam, who suffers from Ewings sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, loves cooking and he particularly likes meat and good British food so the opportunity to prepare his own steak at London’s finest butcher, Allen’s of Mayfair, and then cook it with Alex Gilling, Head Chef at Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, was truly a dream come true!”

Ant and Dec grant Starlight wishes!

Eleven-year-old Joe from Burnham-on-Sea and seven-year-old James from Leyland recently had their dearest wishes to meet television stars Ant & Dec granted by Starlight!

Joe, who suffers from Ewing’s sarcoma, and James, who has juvenile arthritis, are both huge Ant & Dec fans and it has always been a dream to meet their favourite TV stars. Hearing about their wishes, Ant & Dec invited Joe and James and their families to join them at a recent dress rehearsal of Saturday Night Takeaway at ITV studios.

The rehearsal was brilliant and Joe and James were giggling throughout. Despite being really busy, Ant & Dec made time to come over a couple of times during the rehearsal, which was amazing. Then afterwards they spent some time with Joe and James, chatting, signing autographs and having their photo taken with them.

Getting to meet the duo, who were really lovely, and to have an exclusive preview of the show was truly a dream come true for both Joe and James and a wonderful treat after everything that they have both been through.
