Starlight brightening the lives of seriously ill children

00News October, 13

We are delighted that our on-going support to GoCharitable.com is able to improve the lives of terminally ill children like Jake.

This support that we provide allows seven year old Jake from Canvey Islands to meet his WWE heroes at Wrestle Mania in New York.

Jake suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, a severe muscle wasting condition that seriously impairs mobility. Jake’s passion in life is WWE wrestling and when his mum Lora referred him to Starlight, it didn’t take this young WWE fan long to decide that his dearest wish would be to meet some of his favourite WWE wrestlers!

Starlight arranged for Jake and his parents to go to Wrestle Mania Axxess in New York, where Jake was able to watch and meet his idols, including The Miz, The Shield, Christian, 3MB and Tensai!  Afterwards, Jake’s mum Lora said “Jake had the most amazing time – he loved every minute of the whole trip!”
With this on-going support children like Jake are able to have their lives enhanced whilst going through a serious illness.

Starlight brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by wish granting and also by providing fun, entertainment, laughter and distraction for children in every children’s hospital ward and hospice throughout the United Kingdom. All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illnesses.

A very worthwhile cause.
